The 9th-century Cross of Scriptures contains the story of Christ's arrest, His crucifiction, and the soldiers guarding His tomb within its intricate carvings. The cross is now inside the museum at Clonmacnoise, to protect it from the harsh elements. The Latin chant, when translated, means: Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world have mercy on us Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world grant us peace.

Cheryl Parkinson is the artist who recreated this lovely Cross of Scriptures in paint.
